Home in Southern Ostrobothnia, Finland

This is my first post and i wanted to start with these pictures that are taken in my hometown Seinäjoki in Finland. I found these pictures from a finnish magazine Avotakka.

When designing the house, Maija concentrated a lot to what kind of light comes in from the windows and what kind of landscapes appears from the windows.

From the porch you will arrive at two-story high space, combined with a living room, dining room, kitchen, staircase room, and upstairs hall.
High windows showing off the beautiful Finnish pine forest brightens the space.

When selected surface colours Maija counted on confident peaceful basic colors, black and white. They also used dark wood in the exteriors and the interiors, including the upstairs floor and doors and the wooden stairs. In separate smaller areas they also used bold colors: the walls in the inside porch are fresh red mosaic tile, in upstairs bathroom they used turquoise tiles and in the upstairs bathroom black orchid wall paper. Accents, however, were used sparingly so the house ´s general expression is protected and calm.
