Pictures from a house in Sweden

These pictures are from a house in Sweden. The red brick villa was built in 1959 and had only two owners before Malin and Anders. The elderly couple who lived here last had chosen to maintain it most of the time how it was when it was built and Malin and Anders have also tried to renovate as gently as possible.
The best thing about living in a 50th century building is the thoughtful planning, says Malin. The style is both simple and functional.

They are also very happy about the great 50th century windows, nothing prevents the daylight from flowing freely through the windows. I love the big windows that allows a lot of ligh enter to the rooms.

Nadine

One of my favourite Italian clothing brands is Nadine. Here is a small presentation:
Nadine was set up in Milan in 1990 after the idea of two young entrepreneurs, Clemente and Alberto Halfon. Nadine Fashion stands for elegance and attention to new trends and is designed for dynamic women who don't want to ignore their womanly side. Nadine's young and seductive style was designed to meet all modern women's needs, as it stands for an ideal quality-price ratio and is a perfect and original alternative to famous fashion designer brands.

Do you like their style?

Ecology Meets Design

The French company Ekobo creates beautiful bamboo tableware, over 300 handcrafted products in delicious colors. They combine timeless desing with a thoughtful, ethical way of working. Ekobo is based in France but they work closely with several communities in Vietnam. Their designers draft product sketches in Europe which are then realized by expert bamboo artisans in Asia. The artisans are able to work locally in their village and are paid a salary that is nearly 2 times higher than the market rate. Bamboo is a natural, renewable and eco-friendly material, because it grows twice as fast as a tree.

Beautiful interiors from Laura Ashley

Laura Ashley'n interiors style is classic, elegant and full of charm. Waiting for the spring..
Also the children's furniture create a sweet atmosphere. Storage boxes, decorative lights, clocks, pillows and many other small items makes the children's room any young lady´s a fairy tale.

Home in Southern Ostrobothnia, Finland

This is my first post and i wanted to start with these pictures that are taken in my hometown Seinäjoki in Finland. I found these pictures from a finnish magazine Avotakka.

When designing the house, Maija concentrated a lot to what kind of light comes in from the windows and what kind of landscapes appears from the windows.

From the porch you will arrive at two-story high space, combined with a living room, dining room, kitchen, staircase room, and upstairs hall.
High windows showing off the beautiful Finnish pine forest brightens the space.

When selected surface colours Maija counted on confident peaceful basic colors, black and white. They also used dark wood in the exteriors and the interiors, including the upstairs floor and doors and the wooden stairs. In separate smaller areas they also used bold colors: the walls in the inside porch are fresh red mosaic tile, in upstairs bathroom they used turquoise tiles and in the upstairs bathroom black orchid wall paper. Accents, however, were used sparingly so the house ´s general expression is protected and calm.
